Julie “Jules” Houtz is a singer/songwriter born in Baltimore, MD.
Drawing on her personal experiences for inspiration,
Jules writes songs capturing the emotions that everyone can identify with and relate to. Jules’ first song-writing experiences came from poetry/song-writing sessions held locally, long before she ever put music behind her verses. Her song style is influenced by folk, alternative rock and classic rock and she performs well-known hits that range from the 1960's 'til today.
Originally a classically trained musician on French Horn, Jules worked her way up through the open mic ranks with her 6 string, honing her songwriting skills and expanding her cover-artist repetoire. She performs throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware and has recently organized and been performing with a trio to round out her sound. Jules is a current member of the Baltimore Guitarist Group.
Currently, Jules is pursuing a degree in music education at Towson University and is also a member of the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra and Bel Air Community Band.
